PROBLEM

Dufec uses unpractical instruction maps for the instruction of their new field workers. Dufec wanted to ditch the maps and wanted the instruction for the new workers to be short and cocise in the form of a instruction video.

TARGET

The goal was to create an instruction video with a maximum lenght of 5 minutes. The video briefly describes what Dufec does and what an average workday of a field worker looks like. The video should appeal to Dufec's target audience and fit the company's corporate identity.

FIRST MEETING

After receiving the assignment, I had an exploratory conversation with the Dufec. Dufec already had a script ready with the main lines of the video. In the conversation I indicated which services I could provide and contributed to the format of the video.

SHOTLIST

I made a shotlist based on the script. In the end we deviated a bit from the shotlist and some scenes were deleted or adjusted. It is important to always be flexible and to think along with the customer.

FILMING

Dufec hired the actors themself. Due to the availability of the actors, we shot the images over several months. We shot some scenes at the Dufec headquarters and at a crossroad in Tilburg.

CORPORATE IDENTITY

I wanted to make a video that matched Dufec's corporate identity. I made a mood board with colors and other corporate identity elements. So that I could use this as a reference.

ILLUSTRATION AND MOTION DESIGN

For the intro and the end of the video I designed and animated short motion design elements in the corporate identity style of Dufec.

VOICE OVER

I recorded the voice over at my home studio. In total I recorded 2 versions. The customer ultimately opted for the 2nd version, because it is more energetic and more suited to the target group.

Final version (Dutch)

CONCLUSION

In the end, I delivered a video under 5 minutes that shows the big picture of the work at Dufec. I have learned to clearly define what your services are. Be flexible when everything is not on schedule. It was helpful that I knew the company. This helped me make the shotlist and empathize with the customer. The video for Dufec was my first assignment, in which I could use many of my services simultaneously. See the result below.
